And 2 becomes 3!

We are so excited to announce the birth of our little girl!

Born on Aug. 22, 2012 11:59 AM
8 lbs. 3 oz.
20 1/2 inches

On Aug. 21st Leslie went to her doctor for her regular check up before her due date on Aug. 23rd.  Since the amniotic fluids were low the doctor decided to induce her that day.  The induction started at 3:00 PM on Aug. 21st and our little baby was born on Aug. 22nd at 11:59 pm.  Leslie was tough and made it through a lot of hard work, and I think it was well worth it.

I couldn't resist posting this one!

My scrubs that I got when we were in the audience for "The Price is right"

Being held by her grandma Fernandez

We still don't have a name yet.

We are so excited to be parents and to have a new addition to our little family.  It truly is a miracle that we can have children, and thank our Heavenly Father that he provided us with this little girl!

The Price is Right

Last month the Price is Right did a special recording for expectant moms. So we went with a pregnant coworker of mine and her husband.

Only expectant moms were eligible to be contestants. They were giving away a whole ton of baby stuff. In fact, every contestant that got called up for the different games automatically received a one year supply of diapers.   Prizes included cars, a set of like 50 baby shoes, a set of strollers and car seats, and a bunch of other stuff.

Sadly Leslie didn't get called up, but if you want to see us in the audience you can watch us when they air the show on Oct. 15th.

We had a fun time, but it was a long day of waiting in lots of lines.  We arrived at 7:00 am, and then they opened the gate at 9:00 am.  They didn't start recording until about 1:00 pm and we didn't leave till about 3:00 pm.  It was a long time to make a bunch of pregnant woman wait.  We've never been around so many pregnant women in our lives!  In fact, while waiting for so long the women decided to close the men's restroom to males and only let in females for a while because the women's restroom had such a huge line.
Drew Carey is now the host.  And he has lost a lot of weight so he doesn't look quite like this anymore.
This is us waiting in line on the sidewalk outside of the studio.

Baby Projects Galore

I may have gone a little bit overboard with baby projects. I just found such cute ideas for baby things that I could make. And I have a friend who inspired me to do some cool things.
This is what I have been working on:

Baby Bibs

Burp Cloths

 Baby Blanket

Pillow and Stuffed Giraffe

The Giraffe kind of looks more like a Llama ... but I did my best. :)
Here's Daniel, testing out the new bibs. I think "flower" could be his new look!

Pizza Deliciousness!

Daniel made dinner on Saturday night. His favorite. Homemade pizza! I started making pizza a few months ago, and we fell in love... with the pizza. The cool thing about making your own pizza is that you can make it how you like it. And it's brilliant for Daniel and I, because we can make it half and half: Daniel's half has real cheese and pepperoni with some veggies; my half has fake cheese, no pepperoni and things that Daniel hates (for example, olives). It works for us. And it's delicious!!!

This is Daniel's pizza from the other night. He was so proud, he took a picture. It was really good!

Finished Quilt ... Finally

That's right. I finally finished my denim rag quilt. After months of having it all put together, I got it clipped up and washed. Clipping is the worst part, in my opinion, because it takes forever and your hands get tired after a short time. But Daniel, wonderful husband that he is, helped me clip it. We put on a few movies a couple of times and just cut it up. And last week, I washed and dried it, and this is how it turned out:

The finished quilt! Yay! Project done!
Daniel looks so comfortable, doesn't he?
I like how it turned out. I'm very pleased with the ruffly part.

Anniversary Date Extrordinaire!

Daniel and my 3rd anniversary was this past week, on the 23rd. We had a fine day, but it wasn't spectacular like other anniversary's that we've had. We did a puzzle. Doesn't that make us sound like an old married couple?

Anyway, Daniel took me on a spectacular anniversary date on Friday. He took me to the Magic Castle in LA, an exclusive club held in this old and totally awesome mansion. You can only get in if you are a magician connected with the club or a member, or if you know someone who is a member. Fortunately, Daniel has all sorts of connections with his firm. One of the clients that he's worked on is a member ... or a magician. I can't remember which.

We had a dinner reservation at 6pm, so we got there a little bit before. Fun detail: after checking in at the lobby desk, you have to say the "magic words" to an owl statue in order to get in. "OPEN SESAME!" So fun!
The Old Mansion
Dinner was delicious. And expensive. The building is so hard to explain, but it looks like it could be a haunted house, were it not for all the living people that roam around. Just imagine the decor of a haunted house. That's pretty  much what it's like.

After dinner, we went to a bunch of different shows. There are several show rooms, and you wait in line until you get into one. They also had a bunch of magicians just walking the halls, sitting at the bars and doing tricks, which was fun to see as you walk around.

The shows were magical! Seriously. I have no idea how they did most of those tricks. It was amazing. At one of the shows, there was a ventriloquist, who was spectacular! We really enjoyed watching his act.
The Parlour of Prestidigitation
Daniel and I were fortunate enough to be participants in a couple of the shows. We always seemed to be near the front, so we were called on. Daniel was called up on stage to "learn how to be a magician". The Magician told him to pick a card and keep it to himself. Then, having Daniel employ some ridiculous methods, he taught Dan how to magically let the audience know what his card was. You would have had to be there, but it was hilarious! Daniel was so cute, even though he was doing ridiculous things on stage. And in the end, it was fun to watch him be the only one stumped in the entire audience!

We had a wonderful time. One of the more memorable dates, I think. I would definitely go again!

PS: sorry that was such a long, wordy post. I had to tell you how amazing it was.

Outside of the mansion. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside. Sorry, terrible pic of me.  This is the first restaurant we've been to that had a jacket and tie requirement for the men and a dress or pantsuit requirement for the ladies.  We felt all high-class.
The outside of the building. It was bigger than it appears in this picture. Very fun!
